Covasna County Red Cross Received a Van!
We are so thankful that God moved the hearts of several people to provide the 9 persons van that the Covasna County Red Cross so desperately needed! The Ovilla, TX Church of Christ donated $1,000. A caring couple who prefer to remain anonymous provided $8,000. The General Fund of God's Children, to which many of you contribute, provided the rest. In fact, there was enough to also buy a 5 persons Opel sedan to take small groups of nurses to their daily Home Health Care appointments, and make other short trips in our city of 60,000.
In the Summer, this van will safely take 100 underprivileged children to the Red Cross Camp in the beautiful Carpathian Mountains. Year round, this new van will make daily rounds to carry medical teams, food, and medical supplies for Hospice and Home Health care to the shut-ins.
Think about the difference you are making in the lives of so many people in Covasna County right now...it has been snowing for 2 weeks in Covasna County...where I live in Romnia. Daytime highs are in the low 20's F. Floods last Fall destroyed 7,000 acres of farm crops. Food is in short supply.
The new van is strong, reliable... Strong enough to take to Brasov, and bring back several thousand pounds of food to feed the hungry. This food was purchased with donations by good hearted people like you. I hope you have enough good, nutritious food on your table every day. Those of us who have been blessed with all we need...and more...well, God does look to us to help those less fortunate than us. If you are reading this, I'm pretty sure that you care about those who are suffering. God will bless you. You know that's exactly what Jesus was talking about. Listen to what Luke wrote in Acts 20:35, "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: `It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" And, I, Anne, say, "Every time I cast my 'bread' upon the water, God always sends it back to me with butter...and sometimes even jam. We cannot out-give God!"
Thank you, my friends and teammates in this blessed work that God gives us the opportunity to participate in!
Summer Camp
Disadvantaged children get to spend one week at Summer Camp in the forest with kind counselors because of donations to the Covasna County Red Cross. For many of these children, this is the first time to be in the forest, and have 3 square meals a day.
Red Cross Camp
At the Red Cross camp, children learn how to cooperate and obey instructions... building self respect while they play outdoors in the pure mountain air in the valley of the Carpathian Mountains. The Red Cross Board in each of 18 villages selects the children who qualify to attend this free camp.

Home Care
These dear people depend upon the van to bring trained professional nurses to provide daily care for them. The van also brings medical equipment, medicine and food to them. Dan and I were greatly blessed by Home Health Care in the U.S. We hope it can continue for these Romanians...and expand to serve more people in the future.

Donations in Honor of...
Instead of flowers for the memorial service, Dan requested contributions to God's Children to help feed and provide medical care for abandoned children in Covasna County, Romania. Dan's legacy lives on through Anne and Let's Start Talking Teams who serve there now. |
